Welcome to 2024! The year may have changed but airline pricing games remain the same. Though premium cabin fares typically start the year at or near their peak on most routes, softening as the year progresses, it’s never too early to start the planning process. On select routes, BUYING EVENTS are already in progress.

Below is a summary of business class base fares purchased by Premiere members between March-October 2023. Premium cabin fare cycles have been known to repeat, and it’s entirely possible comparable buying events could be launched at similar times in 2024. Though BUY IT NOW BIZ fares on most routes are currently elevated, that’s “normal practice” for January. Airlines know most travelers WON’T OVERPAY for comfort but insist on testing the market anyway in search of price insensitive flyers. A few unsavvy flyers will OVERPAY by buying too early (15% of the market) using money or miles, but not nearly enough to fill all premium cabin seats across all flights.

The BIZ CLASS BUYING EVENT season typically starts in March and the charts below should be used as a guide of what could repeat. If it could happen in ’23 it can certainly happen in ’24! Though it may not be the right time to buy your desired route, it’s NEVER too early to analyze by requesting FARE VALIDATION and commencing the FARE MONITOR process.

BUYING EVENTS HAPPENING NOW!
Business class seat distribution is like a department store: BUYING EVENTS are always happening somewhere. Below is a summary of BUYING EVENTS currently in effect to Europe, Africa, and South America. The European routes currently have an extended advance purchase requirement of 150 days targeting summer travel. If your travel dates are firm, all of the fares shown below are BUY rated though the booking requirements (i.e. 150 day advance purchase) will likely be relaxed as time progresses.

• A varying advance purchase ranging from 21 days (South Africa) to 150 days (Europe) depending on the route as shown below.
• A varying minimum stay requirement ranging from 3 – 14 days as shown below.
• “I" class availability with AA,BA, IB and LATAM in business and “A” class availability in First/ “P” class availability with United /”Z” class availability with Air France which is capacity controlled and may not be available on all flights.
• Depart the U.S. Tuesday-Thursday and return Monday-Thursday to access the lowest fare levels
• Fares are non-refundable and penalties may apply for changes
