American Airlines lowered business class fares to just $680 + taxes from 12 U.S. cities (including Dallas and Los Angeles) today. Delta responded by matching the $680 fare level from select U.S. cities to London (a One World hub city). In early April, business class fares sales were limited to the New York- Paris route. American opted to expand this buying event today while luring Delta loyalists with low business fares.
At 5:21 P.M eastern time, Delta responded by slashing business class fares from several U.S. cities to London Heathrow. To qualify, most fares require a 14 day advance purchase, a 7 day minimum stay and are non refundable. Travel must commence no later than October 31st, 2015 with both American & Delta. The only exception to this buying event is the New York-Paris route where fares now start at at $1,000 + taxes.
